This series is drawn from a road journey through Ladakh, tracing the route from Sonmarg to Pangong Lake.

 

Etched on metal, the works present landscapes as fragmented forms, reflecting the way travel unfolds through memory—partial, layered, and in motion. The negative spaces between the metal fragments function as pathways, evoking the roads that connected places such as the Sangam point, monasteries, and Turtuk village.

As the scale of the terrain expands, the human presence recedes, becoming almost insignificant within the vastness of mountains and open skies. This shift in scale speaks to a quiet surrender to nature, where personal concerns diminish. The journey depicted here moves beyond the physical, becoming a reflective and spiritual passage shaped by landscape, distance, and time.
